Summer Reading
Studies show that children who read as few as six books during the summer can avoid the summer slide and are better prepared to start school in the fall. Your children have access to hundreds of ebooks available through Heartland AEA. Summer reading can be made fun with the databases listed here.

Our Kids Summer Institute 2013
The 2013 Our Kids Summer Institute will be held June 18-19, 2013 at the Waukee High School. The institute will provide participants with the opportunity to network with other educational professionals and to discover new strategies for working with English language learners throughout Iowa. Up to 150 K-12 educators currently employed by schools in the Heartland region are eligible to receive a Title III stipend of $300. Click here to register.
